A generic image

Only nine rare albino lutino macaws in Australia

The Lutino Macaw is a rare, striking color mutation of the Blue-and-Gold Macaw (Ara ararauna), characterized by vibrant yellow-gold plumage, white instead of black beaks and claws, and reddish-pink eyes.

Caused by genetic xanthochromism (a type of ino mutation), these birds replace dark pigments with yellow, resulting in a yellow-and-white appearance.
